‘Kardoush’... and nationality saga

only a handful of national assembly representatives, excluding those who have left, retired, or opted out, have demonstrated unwavering commitment to their legislative and oversight duties.
these individuals possess strong argumentation skills, articulate clarity in their statements, maintain integrity, exhibit genuine reformist zeal, and actively engage in committee work.
among them stands ahmad al-fadl, a former representative and current candidate. despite facing opposition and criticism, his dedication to parliamentary duties and potential for leading the next phase are undeniable.
additionally, other deserving members from the previous assembly include jinan bushehri, marzouq alghanem, and abdul wahab al-issa. conversely, individuals like khaled al-mudhaf, with questionable conduct, remain in memory.
in his notable election seminar, candidate al-fadl addressed a concerning case involving the manipulation of kuwaiti nationality, highlighting the saga of the syrian individual known as kardoush. this narrative, reminiscent of a television drama unfolded as kardoush falsely claimed affiliation with one of kuwait’s tribes.
exploiting this deception, he and his extensive family, comprising numerous wives, children, and in-laws totaling 150 individuals, managed to secure millions from state funds. however, kardoush’s elaborate scheme unraveled when his fraudulent activities came to light, leading to significant debts and ultimately his flight from the country.
there are thousands of people like kardoush and others among us. he is definitely not an anomaly.
former mp muhammad hanif, some time ago, through al-rai newspaper, called on citizens to report negative or immoral phenomena, that is spying on them and to inform the authorities!!
in response to the alarming trend of forging official documents and offering substantial bribes to obtain state citizenship, authorities issued a statement urging citizens to report any related information.
however, this was met with criticism, with many viewing it as an attempt to down playing the severity of the issue. additionally, the argument that revoking the citizenship of counterfeiters could negatively impact real estate prices was deemed far-fetched and lacking in credibility.
the individuals opposing the interior ministry’s decision, and even threatening to interrogate the minister, are often the same ones who claim religious adherence. they are also the ones responsible for various financial discrepancies, such as the loss of 15 billion dinars from citizens’ loans, advocating for pension increases, and organizing costly medical trips, particularly during the summer.
this group has shown little concern for the welfare of future generations and has turned a blind eye to issues like exam fraud involving 40,000 students.
the minister of the interior, supported by leadership, has taken a bold and commendable step that has not been seen in decades. his efforts to combat nationality forgery are crucial for the integrity of the country. it is imperative that such actions continue to yield positive results, as living in a country plagued by a significant number of counterfeiters undermines its stability and security.
whoever opposes the decisions to reveal the files of forgers is most likely a forger like them, or covering up for a forger.
