MP’s ‘impossible’ questions

deputy badr al-hamidi asked the minister of interior a question which may be the most dangerous question in his parliamentary life, and it may not be possible to answer it due to the length of the answer, the short life of this parliament and the complexity of the political situation.
the deputy asked the interior ministry to provide him with the number of special, diplomatic, and regular passports that the ministry has issued.
he also wants to know the number of citizens who have not yet obtained new passports.
he also requested to provide him information about the number of kuwaiti citizenship files that were opened before 1990, and most important of all, the number of citizenship files granted after 1990 and up to the date of answering the question.
he also wants to know the number of those who have not reached the age of eighteen and given kuwaiti citizenship.
two days ago, deputy al-hamidi submitted a proposal with a desire to form a special committee, by a decision of the council of ministers to review the citizenship files of senior workers in various government agencies, and to investigate the validity of what was raised about the ways in which some seniors obtained the original citizenship, in a clear legal violation.
the committee is asked to submit a report on the conclusions of its research so that the council of ministers can take adequate measures something look fishy.
al-hamidi said that many cases of forgery, whether in nationality documents or travel documents are discovered by other countries or their forgery is discovered by chance which indicates the absence of oversight from some responsible authorities. he pointed out that facts and communications proved the existence of errors in proving the original nationality legally by some, especially since many of them occupy important and influential positions in the state security apparatus and its social fabric, and some (they are few) occupy senior positions in ministries, public institutions, various state ministries, facilities of the ministry of defense and the police, as well as groups working in ministries, the public and private sectors, private institutions and entrepreneurship alike.
the representative also clarified that despite the numerous legislative amendments to decree no. 15 of 1959 in the nationality law and related laws, we are still discovering many cases of forgery, and even unjustifiably changing names and genealogies, and this must stop completely.
the deputy’s questions are serious and worrying, but it seems that the official authorities do not feel, or do not want to feel the seriousness of the situation and tend to leave things as they are, as they did with university and doctoral degree holders, whether unaccredited or even forged and fictitious and they are many among us.

note: when the brotherhood committed crimes against the homeland, they said: we cut ties with them. when we criticized the brotherhood’s actions, they  attacked us like hyenas. there is nothing more deplorable than the hypocrisy of those who pretend to be chaste and speak of honor.
