Contradictory statements
when i recollect the names of those who had a role in the muslim brotherhood movement over the past half century, especially those who were poor at that time, i find most of them, if not all of them, have become financially comfortable. and a few of them have made great fortunes, in addition to the great political, social and family standing. despite the religious character of the brotherhood, they have always been closer to pragmatism and reaching out to the observant unlike the other people who remain committed. the work in politics requires opportunism especially since the material and moral temptations are many, in the oil states in particular, where the religious commitment, honesty and faithfulness would become funny issues, and therefore some lies and hypocrisy according to their culture that do no harm at all, to the contrary, they benefit more than they are harmed. therefore, it is not displeasing to hear opinions or to see opposing and contradictory positions of the same people at relatively short intervals, without seeing those who are involved in them feeling ashamed or regretful. they are like that and they will be. in the ‘arab media forum’, and in the presence of colleague madhi alkhamees, a senior member of the muslim brotherhood said: “i confirm for the thousandth time and i will continue to emphasize that we are no longer muslim brotherhood in kuwait since the iraqi invasion of (1990). there is no brotherhood organization in kuwait, and i am not from the brotherhood but a member of the islamic constitutional movement. during another meeting a few years later the same brotherhood leader appeared on ‘alyoum’ tv channel and said: “our opponents have no opponents other than us, the muslim brotherhood, the islamic constitutional movement, and they are preoccupied with the brotherhood although the brotherhood has no ambition for power in the entire gulf. saddam came to us in the days of the invasion and asked us to rule kuwait, but we refused.” in an interview conducted by ahmad a-fadhli on al-adala tv channel with a muslim brotherhood member, who is also a preacher and a big businessman, he said, in response to a question about the validity of saddam’s claim to the brotherhood to rule in kuwait: “no, it never happened, he neither asked me nor anyone else or any of the brotherhood member. this is not true and i challenge those who say otherwise. this statement is flawed and incorrect!” we thank readers and let them contemplate on these contradictory statements which are also dangerous at the same time. we thank the infidel founder of youtube, who has made it available to us and others to preserve the interviews of these people to be a testimony to history about their quality. it is also possible to send links to anyone who doubts the accuracy and authenticity of what we have mentioned in this article.
