When oil loses its lustre

we will continue to warn of all the waste that is happening and the expected dark fate of our only source of income, which has been reduced to half its value in just a few years. we will continue to warn until the prime minister or the fate, whichever comes fi rst, responds to our demands and warnings because it is diffi cult to predict the future. the majority of european automakers have announced their intention to stop the production of any petroleum-fueled vehicles within the next 10 to 20 years. the time will fl y faster than we can imagine. japan, india and china have announced similar plans and america — the world’s largest consumer of vehicle fuel — will soon follow suit faster than expected. it is strange to note that all the major automakers in the world, from detroit to yokohama and seoul to stuttgart, are racing to turn their factories into electric cars because china, which has recently become the biggest supporter of producing or buying electric cars. the only reason why these countries have delayed to turn to this type of car is because of the possibility of their share of the world’s largest automotive market. china also announced that 20 percent of all new cars after 2025, less than 8 years later, should be electric, meaning in the language of commerce the middle eastern oil producing countries will lose hundreds of billions of dollars. china has also restricted western and asian car manufacturers from selling their regular cars in china. china now buys gm cars more than america buys from its own company. it is also the second largest buyer of tesla electric cars, the most luxurious of its class, which is seriously considering opening a factory in china, and this will be done by ford and volkswagen. as a father, grandfather, businessman, citizen and writer, i demand the government to be more aware of the future of kuwait. the extravagant and unjust spending, and it is so much, must be stopped. the national currency should not remain on its current strength and depending on oil as a sole source of revenue should change and kuwait’s investments should be used better, with the need to operate them in mega-productive projects, both inside and outside kuwait, rather than continuing to leave them with deposits and shares of banks and various companies. we will continue to warn, not only out of obligation by telling facts, but also in order that the people who pay attention to the interest of this little nation open their eyes to what awaits us — the black fate — if we continue to act with all this indifference.
