Crimes against Kuwaiti women
religious extremists and socially backward people seek with all their power to minimize the role of women in society, marginalizing and returning her to man’s authority and control, as has been the case for centuries.
more than two decades ago with government support, they succeeded in reducing the retirement age of working women to sit at home at the peak of their efforts, expertise and giving, thus both the society and the public institution for social security paid high moral and material price, and that was the first crime, ‘after ten thousand’, against the right of women.
the second crime, after the ten thousand, was what the same forces of backwardness are seeking to enact a law, which shows mercy in appearance while injustice and backwardness in the core and with clear government support.
these forces call for granting kuwaiti women workers a full salary without going to office on condition they stay at home, not have any job in the private sector, prevent them from engaging in any kind of commercial activity or open a private institution, or to have a private driver.
the proposal states that this law, if approved, will help strengthen family ties and reduce cases of divorce. i do not know how the government knew that one of the reasons for the increase in divorce rates was the employment of women in the state ministries without mentioning the real reasons behind the high rates of divorce in kuwait and the gulf in general, which is mainly due to the miserable circumstances of the marriage of the majority which does not include or allow any real knowledge between the parties, and when they live together for real, they get shocked and divorce occurs, especially if the marriage project is essentially based on matters that have nothing to do with compassion, love and affection.
this law, if passed, will lead to shortage in ministries in a large proportion of women workers who exert more efforts and are more accurate in performing their duties than men and most importantly the least corrupt. there is no doubt that there is a proportion of working women who need to stay at home and receive the salary of the job, but things are not measured by with some but with the general, and the general will be socially and psychologically damaged.
woman sitting in home is not absolute mercy, this is in case she sits and does not spend time visiting others and going to the best cafés or expensive malls and spend the free salary on latest items, thus she is transformed from a productive worker who has a role and value in the community to a superficial person coated with absurdity in most of her actions and conversations, and will be only preoccupied with eating, drinking and sleeping and perhaps contributing a little in the process of reproduction.
great powers encourage all groups of society to work and participate in production and add something to the economy. we do the opposite because we have a surplus in money we do not know how to deal with it, so we are busy with half of the labor force returning home, and the salary will be paid to their bank accounts in full. those who have submitted this proposal, whoever they do not want good for women, and therefore do not want good for kuwait.
