Will my dream come true?
when i was a boy, i used to ‘move’ in a triangle that i rarely overtook, especially during the summer holidays, the house located in the east of the capital, my grandfather’s shops and my father’s exchange offices in the mubarakiya market area, and food trade in the same area, and finally school.
i enjoyed working with my father when i was young and listening to conversations of the elderly in the shop. one problem often prevented me from going to the market, and i am talking here about the late 1950s, and the place is the heart of kuwait’s capital city and the central business district, where the palace of governance and the grand mosque, the mubarak kiosk, the mubarakiya market, the first kuwaiti school, shops and exchange offices, meat, vegetables, barley, flour, arms, and waqif markets, were knitted together.
this 60-year-old problem of unclean bathrooms or toilets to answer the call of nature remains the same, despite all the development in urban areas and billions of dollars earned by the state. can anyone believe this tragedy that causes nausea? how can we go to the heart of kuwait to enjoy its ancient and rich atmosphere, take senior guests of the state on a tour of our capital, and eat in its restaurants where there are not enough clean bathrooms, at a time when we boast of an ice skating rink in the midst of a scorching hot desert, a dancing fountain and an opera house but have forgotten to build decent bathrooms over 60 years?
the government can quickly and simply atone for this crime against everyone without exception by importing 20 german bathrooms or electronic toilets in a short period and installing them in various corners of the capital to meet the urgent, necessary and humanitarian need for a fictional facility in its importance and necessity, which until today has failed to get the attention of any official.
these german bathrooms have the following advantages:
1. made of stainless steel and do not need any maintenance at all whether from inside or outside.
2. its internal and external surfaces and above can be used to place billboards, which will generate income covering the purchase of the bathroom within a year or two.
3. the door of the bathroom opens only after paying small fees.
4. cannot be used for smoking, as it is equipped with a warning ‘siren’.
5. it cannot be used for any prohibited acts because the door is programmed to open automatically after a controlled period has passed.
6. after each use, the door closes automatically to be washed and dried automatically and therefore does not require human intervention.
7. you may need to assign someone who checks them a few times a day to make sure they work well.
i contacted the municipality officials regarding the issue of supplying these bathrooms and they informed me that this issue falls within the authority of the touristic enterprises company and that the municipality is ready to cooperate.
will the president of the touristic enterprises company turn to reality my more than 60-year-old dream?
