Crime against environment
it becomes almost chaotic when a higher authority interferes with the work of lower authority because the latter is more experienced and understands better the scope of work, especially from the scientific and technical point of view.
the current situation in shuwaikh is a crime against the environment, security, and public order. after the jleeb al-shuyoukh district, shuwaikh is the most densely populated area and in terms of industrial waste, menial labor, traffic congestion, solid industrial waste saturated with oil and other random material dumped in the sewers not to mention chaos involving the licences, overlapping of duties and housing of tens of thousands of workers in poor conditions.
the area also suffers from a lack of security to the extent that it has only one or two police stations. it is strange in this area that few government agencies are ready to approach it or propose radical reforms and the reason is simple and known to all, there is no party in a government body, whatever the size that does not have an interest or business there.
the area also complains about the lack of public bathrooms and restrooms, public squares or gardens, which are completely neglected by various ministries of services.
in order to make matters worse and add to the problems of shuwaikh, the cabinet decided to transfer the entire eastern industrial zone through a hasty, unexplained and unjustified decision.
this is evident from the format of the letter addressed by the council of ministers to the minister of municipality, asking him to find an alternative location for the east industrial plots.
by moving all garages, workshops, showrooms, and warehouses east of shuwaikh, we will increase the suffering of the owners and users of the area. the area lacks services and the existing ones are under severe pressure, especially road infrastructure.
for example, in the shuwaikh area, there are workshops for repairing cars and selling spare parts equivalent to twice the number in lebanon, for example, although the latter has more dilapidated cars than kuwait, including at least 30 workshops to repair cars exhausts.
the transfer of the east industrial area to shuwaikh is a crime against the homeland. shuwaikh is currently suffering and groaning under the weight and pressure of all that is taking place in its streets.
it is in dire need of services, continuous cleaning, and prevention of housing and the intensification of planting trees.
as it is an industrial area it needs oxygen provided in that east industrial area to be moved to any other area with the need to turn the old slaughterhouse into a public park, and reduce congestion in the area by preventing the fragmentation of holdings, and other urgent measures required before things in the area get out of control.
