‘Achievements need praise, not queries’
the minister of commerce and industry and minister of services khalid al-roudhan has issued a ministerial decree requiring garages, car repair workshops, and spare parts sellers to provide a guarantee for these parts for periods ranging from one piece to another, and for the mechanical or electrical repair done on the vehicle.
this law was overdue for more than half a century. in the past i have suffered from poor service because the law did not exist then, when i was forced to use a spare part which was not available with the agent and the seller of the used item refused to give any guarantee or refund the price if the spare part was found to be useless after a few days.
the ministerial decision also called on the owners of garages and repair shops to display a list of warranty periods in a prominent place of their shops for the consumers or the end-users to see it clearly.
this decision, and dozens of other decisions issued by the minister of commerce so far, all in a relatively short period, are in the interest of the citizens and the residents, including his other decision which was issued a few days ago on the formation of a special registration committee for auditors contained in article 6 of law no. 103 of the year 2019, regarding the practice of the profession of auditors as follows:
the committee to be formed by t h e undersecretary of the ministry of commerce and industry or his authorized representative will include ali owaid al-rakhees and talal al-muzaini, representing the kuwait accountants and auditors association, othman al-awadhi representing the legal sector, and mona ibrahim amina al-sirr. the work of the committee will be to consider applications for registration from the auditors.
here we would like to emphasize a very important point, and we wish minister al-roudhan and the members of the registration committee to pay attention to it, which relates to the practice of some auditors to expand their business, while at the same time auditing the accounts of those who are competitors. it is therefore imperative for the registration committee not to allow an auditor to conduct business if he/she has a business.
the minister also issued a decision for the formation of a grievances committee with counselor hisham al-bassam as chairman, abdul karim al-samdan member, khaled al-fares member, and heba al-dosari as secretary.
the meetings of the committee shall be approved by a quorum in the presence of an absolute majority of the members of the committee.
after all, this comes a twitter user who does not know his name or family and wonders why i am keen to praise those who make accomplishments in any ministry or government department or outside.
