‘I stand by my word, deed’

i would not have written this article if a friend and a reader had not insisted that i must respond to what is written by colleague mubarak al-duwailah for the al-qabas daily against me and against the virtuous and professional woman whose reputation has been praised by every respected and honorable person.
m u b a r a k described me as the defender of the resigned minister of public works every time, and since i mean no one else has done so, i reaffirm here my position regarding what i have said about minister jenan (bushehri), and i am honored with what i have done, not only because she deserved that.
everyone who wrote and spoke about her, praised her strength and integrity, but i did that because i love my homeland, and i did so impartially, i have no personal interests, and i met her only for a few seconds and it did not interest me or had anything to do with ministry of public works or with ministry of housing, and did not receive any benefit from the two ministries or from these institutions personally.
note that i am to a great extent sound financial to think otherwise. i very much respect her person and what motivated me to stand by her solid position is my faith in the fairness of her position? from all this, i say my support for her is devoid of any personal, material, political or ideological purpose.
as for your position to stand against her, and we do not dispute about it, is based on personal and material interest. it may have been behind the suspension of your engineering office for many years, along with other offices and construction companies, an office that has long boasted that there are hundreds of engineers working under you.
this is not a morality and reputation match between you and me. this is beyond the power of one of us. i am not a general. i have not conducted any political or constitutional movement to achieve my interests. i am not a political player in the arena in search of what brings me strength and material benefit.
i have behind me half a century of ‘clean’ and honest work, i have lost a lot, contrary to what others have, in order to protect that purity, i repeat the purity, my reputation, to be worthy of the confidence of my article being read every morning, by someone who does not shake his head, denounce the contradiction between what he reads and he sees in my action and behavior.
i am not defending the minister of public works, jenan bushehri, but i was saddened to hear those who described the scenario that the ministries of public works and housing, while in charge of her administration, were the worst in the history of the two ministries. but i was soon relieved and the sorrow evaporated in thin air after i read the names and biographies of those who had described that the ministries during her tenure were the worst times in history.
as a matter of fact, the minister is obliged to perform her constitutional duties as long as the resignation of the government preceded the acceptance of her historic resignation and thus became constitutional, assuming that she respected it, she is obliged to act urgently until the new government is formed.
to say that she is staying in the ministry in order to get rid of the documents that are proof against her and prepare for the ‘battle’ is wishful thinking and is only done by those who are fighting a losing battle and do not deserve a response.
