Wind, not captain steers boat
the state of stalemate that we are complaining about could turn into a huge movement, overnight with the issuance of a long-awaited sovereign decision.
we need to decide, are we a socialist country or a capitalist country.
does the private sector lead the economy, or is the state, with all its apparatus, in charge of it?
do we have a five-year or ten-year plan or vision 2035, or are we living without a plan, clear goal, program, or vision?
are we a civil state or a religious state?
are we a democratic country, or vice versa?
are we a country looking for a place among the developing countries, aiming to develop and enlarge its capabilities, or a country that is satisfied with its condition and situation?
are we going with the blessing of oil, extracting and selling it, as if it will last forever, or do we have to plan for the future?
will the systems and methods of education remain backward, or will the development committees be allowed to bring about the long-awaited educational revolution?
are we an open country that desires to attract foreign investments and the participation of international companies in huge projects so that we can create resources equivalent to oil and an alternative to it in the future, or will we continue with our rigid, vague, and undefined situation?
the list of worthy and perplexing questions is endless, and our various situations are eroding with the continued delay in answering them and determining the truth of our identity.
as for what some call for, that the matter requires holding a conciliatory national conference to clarify the vision, it is a request that is not consistent with the logic of the presence of 50 deputies representing all spectra of the nation, so it is not permissible to even think about putting them aside, to consider the future of the nation!
also, the idea of holding a national conference is not correct in the first place, with or without the national assembly, as the decisions of any national conference will be known in advance and will not deviate from the nature of the nation’s human component, in general, which is backward and anti-developing by nature.
no national conference can be relied upon to achieve any progress and its decisions will not be different from the decisions of those we elected. any conference will inevitably come out with more strict, backward, and rigid decisions.
meanwhile, the ministry of interior answered, indirectly, some of our questions by announcing, in an important and urgent piece of news, that the residence affairs sector in the ministry of interior had started receiving visa applications to join a family, for children only, within the following controls:
the resident’s salary is at least 500 dinars, and his residence permit, surprisingly, is valid, and most importantly the child’s age is less than five years. but if the child’s age (god forbid) is less than one year, the matter requires the approval of the department manager.
i do not know about any openness or attracting investments we are talking about.
