Tips to preach for ‘imams’
on the occasion of the advent of ramadan, a unique message is circulated on social media addressing the imams. the message called upon the imams to avoid repeating the same thing such as the importance of the holy month and virtues as all of them have become known. the message asked the imams to talk about new and more important issues and these are some of them, and some of what we added to it:
■ tell the believers that whoever lives in a stolen house or does not pay the rent, his fast and zakat are not accepted.
■ tell them that whoever breaks the fast with looted or suspicious money or bribery, is not allowed to fast or pay zakat.
■ tell them that the one who has wronged other people must in return do them well, tolerate them, and repent, before paying zakat and charity.
■ tell them that whoever prevents his sisters from inheriting and does not give them their right, neither fasting nor zakat will be accepted by such persons.
■tell them that unlawful money is neither zakat nor alms.
■ tell them to uphold the ties of kinship and honor their parents.
■ inform them of the rights of their neighbors, and the rights of the building guard, the nanny, the house servants, and the like.
■ inform them of the sanctity of public money, the sanctity of the road, and the need to respect its users.
■ tell them of their responsibilities towards their children and their responsibility for their actions.
■ tell them about the prohibition of merchants monopolizing commodities and raising their prices for no reason.
■ tell them that removing harm from the road is charity.
■ tell them that raising the volume of loudspeakers is harmful to everyone.
■ tell them that it is a violation of the worshippers to park their cars in places other than those designated for them, without impeding the interests of others.
■ tell them that work is worship, the necessity of perpetual commitment is from good manners, and there is no worship without good morals.
■ tell them that wasting water and electricity consumption is bad manners.
■ tell them that leaving their children on the street and allowing them to get involved in bad manners is a crime against the country.
■ tell them that extravagance in buying and eating food or throwing surplus food into the garbage is bad manners.
■ tell them that being addicted to watching soap operas, and making them a priority over caring for the elderly and the young in the family, is also bad manners.
■ tell them not to drive recklessly before breaking the fast, exposing their lives and the lives of others to danger, and that the dining table will not disappear if they do not reach home before the sunset call to prayer.
■ tell them that their fasting is for them and that they do not have the right to burden others or favor it over them, or refuse to perform work under the pretext of fasting.
■ tell them of the need to respect others and fall in a queue, regardless of the nationality of those standing in front of them.
■ tell them of the need to respect the privacy of others, and not to infringe on weak people.
the list is long, but most of these points will be forgotten by the imams and preachers who may read this article.
