Where is the chalet? And where is industrial plot?
as is the case with many, i thank my welfare state for owning a house, a chalet, and warehouses from state property to protect my trade which i paid for without exception with my money, except for a house-building loan that i obtained in 1988. the remaining part of the installments have been written off shortly after the liberation of kuwait in 1991. i had written directly after the liberation of kuwait that the decision to write off the citizens’ loans was wrong and harmful.
consequently, i did not receive even one centimeter of state land for free, neither for my own use nor for my commercial activities. any talk, complaint, or claim from a citizen that there is equity in the distribution of wealth is right and wrong at the same time. there is no, in terms of principle and logic, complete justice, or even close to it, in any country in the world, especially when it is part of the third world. this is an illusion, and therefore it is ridiculous to claim it.
logic also says that there is no state, even in the imagination, in which everyone can own houses, chalets, stores, farms, and rest houses! this is impossible to achieve, and this does not mean that justice in the distribution of wealth is not required, but rather it is the basis of any system of government, and any employer, family, or activity, but within specific rules and clear conditions.
what is the point of giving the citizen a commercial plot if he does not have enough money, desire, and understanding to build and manage it, so that it does not become a burden on him?
some of those who obtained shops in the capital city or commercial complexes ended up involved in much trouble because the revenues are less than the cost. some people have not been born to become businessmen and the latter is not born to be a teacher or engineer. likewise, trade is not a job that starts at nine in the morning, for example, and ends with the end of work, with paid leave for more than two months every year.
whoever, for example, receives a store in one of the capital’s markets, or in a mall, by paying a lock or participating in a lottery, finds himself involved, after it becomes clear to him that what he pays in terms of rent is more than what he receives in terms of income. just as some were not created to be a merchant, trader is often not created to be a teacher or an engineer.
some people think the job is humiliating, especially when working under an authoritarian boss. however, they do not know that the merchant also works under the command of hundreds of bossy clients or customers, and seeks to satisfy them in various ways, absorbs their anger, listens to their complaints, and responds to their requests.
this is in addition to the majority who do not know anything about the suffering of the merchant and the time, effort, and money he spends in communicating with international factories, the risk in importing various commodities and bearing the burden of storing them, and the risk in borrowing from banks to finance his trade and bearing the weight of the blood of deadly government red tape, and others are not concerned with his suffering, so he has nothing else to do other than enjoying the goods and services provided by the merchant.
the hatred against the merchant who works, toils, and takes risks only burns the heart of its owner, for everything has its price, and no party, whatever it was, prevented him from leaving his government work and going to private work.
perhaps these envious people did not read the complaint of one of the envious major investors, that he is sad and tired of government obstacles and red tape and the suspension of government projects in his country, and that he is forced to go south to expand his business, outside his homeland!
stop envy, coexist with reality, respect the vital role of merchants, and hold accountable the corrupt among them, without hesitation.
