Tale of a ‘modern preacher’

nepotism means the tendency of those in power and influence to appoint relatives in senior and privileged positions. this is the height of corruption irrespective of the competency of the people appointed in such positions.
few ‘seniors’ in our islamic region have succeeded in avoiding this line of appointing their sons in senior positions, or that their followers, after their death, take advantage of their religious or political heritage, invest in their children, and impart some kind of sanctity to them.
in 1958 when the egyptian authorities harassed said ramadan, the husband of hassan al-banna’s daughter, the muslim brotherhood guide and his followers smuggled him to geneva, the most beautiful city in the world, and sent the rest of his companions to kuwait’s summer heat, dust, and flies ... then!
our article today is about another modern preacher, who was born and lived under the banner of brotherhood, but in their european wing. tariq said ramadan, the grandson of al-banna who was born in geneva in 1962, mastered several languages (and speaking), and received distinguished and very expensive education, often at the expense of donations and ‘generosity’ from the gulf citizens. however, ramadan, with time and experience, became an influential personality and would have played a very vital role had it been not for the dramatic events that ended his glow.
tariq ramadan became a prominent cultural, political and religious phenomenon in europe, and he acquired experience as a professor of islamic thought and lecturer at several universities including the british oxford, the german freiburg, and other universities in qatar, morocco, and malaysia.
he could have achieved a lot, but the contradictory life that he lived in a house of fundamentalism and liberal life outside the house confused him in the end.
in all his books and lectures ramadan highlighted his point of view regarding the non-contradiction of islam with european culture and its secular aspects but failed, and his fate is the testimony of that failure, and the difficulty of mixing the principles of freedom, justice, and equality, with his puritanical ideals; nor did he differ in all his analyzes and readings from another modern preacher, about whom we wrote a few days ago, except that ramadan was more knowledgeable and educated, more handsome and charismatic.
his attempts to harmonize liberal european texts and ideals with restricted celestial texts – according to his interpretation – were miserable, which ultimately earned him the enmity even from the ‘brothers’ of europe. he thus became no different from the millions of muslims around the world, who detailed the religion according to their sizes and tastes.
the end of this contradiction between the idea and the living was what a french woman named hind ayari did in october 2017 by filing a complaint in france against him accusing him of rape, and she wrote a book about her painful experience with him.
as expected, ramadan denied the allegations. in january 2018, the french authorities arrested him for interrogation on the background of two rape cases dating back to 2009 and 2012. as evidence against him and pressure increased, in october 2018 he was forced to confess to having sexual relations with the two women, but he stressed the relationships were consensual.
the press said 776 porno and sex images were found on his phone and his data-saving media. that was the end of the biggest islamic defender in europe – defender of virtue, morality, honor, and even jihad and hijab, and he is one of a long line of seniors who has captured the hearts of their fans, and who still believe he is innocent and that there is a conspiracy to eliminate him because of the role he played to spread the principles of islam in europe.
what ramadan and his followers do not want to believe is that the east will remain east, and it will not merge with the west unless one side agrees to give up on its principles.
in this case, either europe will convert to islam, or muslims in europe will believe in the secularism of the state and stop their relentless pursuit of its islamization through ‘good’ or by ‘force’.
