The ‘Trojan Horse’ Gaza

i cannot foresee the eventual resolution of the ongoing hamas threat. however, i hope that israel will acknowledge the reality and embrace the two-state solution. it is unrealistic to expect nearly 8 million people to abandon their dreams of living in peace, free from violence, displacement, and restrictions.
i recently shared a tweet in both arabic and english:
“i strongly oppose hamas.
i do not support military operations.
i abhor discrimination, abduction, and torture.
i firmly condemn their actions in the past three days.”
simultaneously, i condemn the actions of israelis towards the palestinian people over the last 27,740 days.” i remain steadfast in my stance against hamas and my concerns regarding the schemes of the muslim brotherhood and what they represent.
i also cannot overlook the official palestinian position during the brutal saddam hussein invasion, despite kuwait being a significant supporter of palestine.
however, as a human and someone who values freedom, i cannot sustain negative feelings and hatred for 33 years, especially when it’s not certain that the entire palestinian population was against the liberation of kuwait and supported saddam hussein.
even if all palestinians held the same opinion regarding the iraqi invasion of kuwait, which is not verified, it does not negate their right to return home, attain independence, and dignity, and peacefully coexist with their neighbors. i stand with them, just as i stand with ukraine’s right to defend their country.
many analysts insist on their belief that there is a conspiracy that allowed hamas to breach israel’s seemingly impenetrable borders, enter homes, kill hundreds, and take many as prisoners of war.
this theory suggests that israel had meetings with hamas, agreeing to disable surveillance cameras and remove monitoring equipment to enable hamas to breach cities, kill hundreds, and capture jewish individuals, including americans.
subsequently, israel would pursue and eliminate hundreds of hamas members, initiate a war against gaza, mobilize 300,000 reservists at a daily cost of one billion dollars, deploying fighter jets and helicopters to destroy homes, buildings, and services in gaza, killing thousands of palestinians by cutting off water, electricity, and blocking the entry of essential supplies.
strangely, proponents of this theory fail to provide a compelling reason for two parties to agree to such a deadly course of action. additionally, no israeli party has presented a similar narrative, considering nearly 50,000 israelis are tasked with monitoring the borders.
furthermore, those who doubt that hamas managed to breach israeli borders overlook the fact that history is replete with similar incidents, dating back to the ‘trojan horse’.
nehemia shtrasler, a prominent israeli journalist, wrote in haaretz on october 10, 2023: “hamas” surprise attack on israel is the worst failure in the country’s history.
it surpasses even yom kippur in its seriousness. the surprise was more profound, the ‘concept’ more misguided, the neglect more severe, the blow to morale worse, the chaos more overwhelming, the shock more profound, and the civilian casualty toll the highest ever. ‘netanyahu: resign now.
