A harvest goes in vain

some accuse me saying i call for restrictions on charity work and this is a pure lie. since i am the chairman of a charity society, how can i demand restrictions on charity work? this is a silly and funny accusation. yes, i have always questioned the integrity of some charities, and i still do, because the evidence thereof are innumerable.
those who have siphoned charity money into their personal accounts are well-known. the damage caused by some charities with the money they collected whether inside or outside kuwait is well known, and the records with the ministry of social affairs is a good testimony.
the ministry has revoked the licenses of many such charities and all that i can say is that i and the honest people who are involved in charity work suffer because of the tough and strict inspections conducted by the ministry inspectors because some have embezzled money from some charities over the past nearly half a century.
one who claims integrity asked me not to limit my criticism to sunni charities but i should also write about hundreds of millions of dinars that are collected and spent at home and abroad uncontrollably and openly in neighboring countries while i did not bother myself in asking the state to monitor it, and he may be referring to the shiite khums.
khums is paid on the surplus of annual expenses of a person, i.e. one has to pay one-fifth of what has remained from his income after subtracting his own expenses on an exact date each year, to a religious expert and needy descendants of prophet muhammad (pbuh).
first, i neither represent the shiite position, nor do i speak on its behalf, however, i will respond to anyone who tries to fi sh in muddy waters, and involve me in what does not concern me.
second, requesting me to write about the money that goes out openly to neighboring countries as i write about the charities’ funds is an implicit acknowledgment that the two activities (sunni and shiites) are suspicious.
thirdly, i questioned the fate of the one fifth (khums) of the money going out of the country on more than one occasion through an article and i am not responsible if it was not seen by the sick-hearted people, and i am not under obligation to write about the subject simply because i am not supposed to defend or relieve myself.
fourthly, as far as i know, the money collected from the khums, which i know nothing about, has never contributed to national sabotage, and the billions that have been leaked from charities for decades have contributed not only to national sabotage but to the destruction of the minds of youth.
fifth: all my writings show the truth of my positions, which do not include favoritism to one side at the expense of the truth. i have never written with sectarian or partisan nature as some do.
finally, i am an individual with no authority and all that i do is write this column in a newspaper and any day the newspaper may stop publishing my columns.
on the other hand, those who criticized me for not writing about khums; hundreds of millions of which have found their way to neighboring countries, why don’t they ask the, deputies to put the issue at the government doorstep through parliamentary queries since the person claims money is finding its way to the neighboring countries.
does this person not know that the one who does not show or does not speak the truth is a silent devil?
why this person remains silent and does not write about the subject? note that he moved his tools to ask a parliamentary question related to the news of al-qabas about the dismissal of the head of a prominent security apparatus for covering up to four kuwaitis who cooperated with elements belonging to an external cell.
i feel pity for those who plow the seeds all year, and when the time comes for harvest they find nothing.
