Why Darwin theories ignored?
a majority of religious hardliners tend to not only ignore darwin’s theories but also despise him. their sharp attitudes are reflected in their refusal not only to talk about the wonderful theories that have opened up vast prospects for mankind but also their refusal to talk about him, his biography and even his history. is there any greater disregard for the greatest scientist in the history of mankind?
to add insult to injury our media and our school curricula have failed to shed light on the achievements of this extraordinary scientist whose theories have shaken the very foundations of europe’s most powerful religious edifices.
colleague dr. khaled montasser says: they challenge the future and civilization, and we take a back seat and this numbness in our body can be felt all over. this is true, as the entire world seeks to challenge the future and embrace the free thought and imagination and allow the mind to wander in the depths of the most spacious and open horizons.
imagination is the nucleus of all the achievements as we know. the idea of traveler’s checks, credit cards, uber and google, smartphones and tens of thousands of other discoveries did not fall from the sky but they are credited to someone’s imagination.
why don’t i have a phone which would allow me to talk to someone thousands of miles away who has a similar device and can even see each other as we talk? why can’t i fly like a bird? why is it difficult to make food hot without firewood, gas or charcoal but in a microwave?
was it not the imagination that was behind the invention of a lamp and hundreds or thousands of other inventions? why should i put my mind in a specific mold and train strictly on the words of others to control me as he pleases? why not try, or even think to get out of the stereotypes where society or school put me?
they have deprived us of imagining, calling it madness or saying it deprives us of values and portraying it as ‘anti-religious’ which to a large extent has contributed to our backwardness, while others have not hesitated to open the doors of their minds wide and allowed imagination to run wild.
they have outpaced the atmosphere and conquered the gravity and succeeded in putting the man in space and landing him on the moon and bringing him back to mother earth safely. it is this image that has succeeded in sending manned and unmanned spaceships into orbit to learn about the planets and galaxies billions of kilometers away from us to pick pictures and nourish our imagination more and more.
it is this image that has predicted the existence of black holes and also predicted hundreds of years before the earth is round and that it is not the center of the universe and that it is a planet just like other planets that revolve around the sun.
we have to change the schools’ curriculum, give a boost to the imagination of our children and encourage them to open the window of their minds and thirst to find out what lies beyond because they are the future scientists who have to keep pace with survival.
the scientists have no time to wait for anyone and there is no place for the lazy in a fast-paced and ever-changing world.
